So far, the League of Legends World Championship 2025 have undoubtedly been rough for LEC fans.

As the region’s third seed, Fnatic entered the tournament carrying the weight of years of unmet ambitions — the team has not reached the playoffs at Worlds since 2020, making this a crucial test of whether it can reclaim its former international stature.

Fnatic started its Worlds 2025 run with a loss to CTBC Flying Oyster, a team that went on to defeat T1. In Fnatic’s second match, the team faced LPL’s first seed Bilibili Gaming and were unable to secure a win. Now, at 0–2, Fnatic will face Movistar KOI, with the loser set to be eliminated from Worlds 2025.

In an interview with Esports Insider following the team’s loss to BLG, Fnatic’s jungler Iván ‘Razork‘ Martín Díaz opened up about the roster’s current struggles and what needs to change for Fnatic to bounce back.

Razork: I just think we are not playing well as a team. I feel like we are just not good enough this tournament so far.

Razork: I mean, I think there are tons of things we have to improve on right now. I’m just not sure if it’s a lack of confidence or… I’m not sure.

I just don’t think we are playing the game how it’s supposed to be played in official games, and I don’t think even we are having the best of our practice in scrims. So yeah, I just don’t know how to change the situation right now. I just feel like we are not playing well.

Razork: I don’t think it’s like anything individual. I just feel like, as a team, we are not very synchronised and we are making a lot of mistakes.

We’re just not really following one plan. So I don’t think it’s about talking to someone about issues. It’s like we have to actively try to change it, and I’m not sure… I’m not sure what is the direction that we are going to take, but for sure, we have to change something if we actually want to go far in this tournament, as right now, with our backs against the wall. So, we need to do something.

Razork: I mean yeah, there’s stuff that I want to practice. I’m obviously not going to say it right now as I don’t want to leak info. But overall, I feel like I need to be more confident and trust myself way more so I can play at my best because I know that when those things are happening, I am a very good player.

Razork: Yeah, I mean also I think the meta has their priorities right now, and it’s hard to force drafts when the enemy team is drafting properly. You can’t really play the AP jungles like that.

Razork: I honestly didn’t know much about him until he joined BLG. I mean I knew he went to play in the LPL, but I didn’t follow him much. I think since he joined BLG, I think he’s playing pretty good and I think he’s actually making his team way better. I don’t remember much honestly, about the games when I played against him in Misfits, but for sure, he got much, much better as a player.

Razork: Yeah, for sure. I don’t even realise how we played without Fearless Draft. It just feels really boring to play the same three champs in the role.

I think Fearless adds more spiciness towards the viewership and also towards the players, so they can play more and stuff. So I think it’s going to be way better with Fearless moving forward at Worlds.

Razork: I did sacrifice a lot in my life to be a pro player. I left my house at 17, you leave your friends and your family. So there are a lot of sacrifices in order to chase your dreams and do what you want. I would say those mainly.

Razork: Yeah, I think all the time. I think that way I left my house, I left my friends and my family, but in the end I’m doing what I like and what I love to do, and that is working as a pro player for Fnatic. So I don’t have any regrets.

Razork: I’m not sure, right now we’re not in an easy position. I think the whole team is doing their best to make it work, but we just need to try harder or push harder. I don’t know, but for sure, I think I’m not going to have regrets as I’m doing my best.
