Sally C’s Big Saldo’s Chunkers is hitting a milestone with its 10th release, welcoming Berlin-based Welsh producer Running Hot to the family with his Hot Tracks Vol.1 EP dropping July 2.

The four-track EP delivers what Sally C describes as “Chunkers heavy on prog and classic NYC house energy.” Fans can get an early taste with ‘Feel the Rhythm‘ streaming in full on Bandcamp, while ‘Trip‘ is available as an exclusive single on streaming platforms ahead of the full EP release.

There’s an interesting backstory connecting Running Hot (Mark Newman) to Big Saldo’s Chunkers that few know about. The two shared studio space in the early days of the label, where Newman worked for a vinyl cutting business. Sally C had no idea about his musical background until she spontaneously asked “Do you like house music?” and handed him a copy of ‘Big Saldo’s Chunker 002‘ on vinyl.

“I had no idea he made house music. Not only house music, but the best house music ever. This release is a full circle moment,” Sally C shares about the serendipitous connection.

Running Hot has built a solid reputation as a tastemaker’s favorite, releasing music on respected labels including Love On The Rocks, Permanent Vacation, Correspondent and Certain Music. He launched his eponymous Running Hot label in 2025 with ‘Bad for the Body, Good for the Soul’, which featured ‘French Press’ — a track Moxie named “track of the year.”

His debut on Big Saldo’s Chunkers showcases his range across the four-track offering. ‘Feel the Rhythm‘ draws inspiration from Danny Tenaglia and Junior Vasquez, creating what feels like a modern Twilo roller with tribal drums and subterranean moods. The streaming single ‘Trip‘ delivers six minutes of punchy dancefloor energy that balances depth with driving momentum.

‘Bumpin‘ drops the tempo for a sultry, groove-driven approach channeling ’90s NY house vibes, while ‘Amor‘ serves as Running Hot’s tribute to Miami legends MURK. The closing track epitomizes what Sally C calls “the full-bodied Chunker aesthetic.”

The celebration continues this Friday at FOLD London with the largest Big Saldo’s Chunkers showcase to date. Running Hot will perform alongside Sally C, Courtesy, Shonky, NIKS, OMOLOKO, and Eoin DJ.
