Beatportis officially stepping deeper into DJ technology with the launch of Track ID, a new music recognition feature designed specifically for electronic music environments. Available now inside the Beatport mobile app for iOS and Android, the tool allows DJs and fans to identify tracks in real time — even during layered mixes, mashups, remixes, and noisy club settings.

While the concept may sound similar to platforms like Shazam, Beatportsays Track ID was built specifically around the realities of DJ culture. According to the company, the feature is optimized to recognize pitch-shifted tracks, time-stretched edits, overlapping blends, and festival recordings where crowd noise and heavy sound systems traditionally make track identification difficult.

The platform also claims the tool includes AI-powered audio cleaning technology capable of filtering out effects and background noise to improve recognition accuracy during live performances. Beatport says the system can even detect multiple tracks playing simultaneously during transitions and layered DJ blends — one of the biggest challenges for traditional music recognition apps.

Once a track is identified, users can instantly preview it, save it to playlists, stream it, or purchase it directly through Beatport’s ecosystem. All recognized songs are also automatically stored inside a dedicated Track ID history tab for future reference and digging sessions.

The feature was developed in partnership with AI-powered music recognition company seeqnc and marks another major expansion of Beatport’s growing DJ-focused ecosystem. Over the past several years, the platform has continued investing heavily into streaming integrations, mobile workflows, creator tools, and music discovery technology aimed specifically at electronic music culture.

Beatport Chief Revenue Officer Helen Sartory also acknowledged the long-running culture surrounding hidden IDs within DJ communities, noting that track identification has been “a hotly debated topic amongst DJs” for years.

Reaction from the DJ community has already started surfacing online, with some users excited about the possibility of finally identifying hard-to-find edits and unreleased-sounding club tracks more accurately than existing tools. Others, however, joked that DJs guarding secret weapons in their sets may not be thrilled about the feature’s arrival.

For DJs, crate diggers, and festival-goers constantly searching through comment sections trying to ID tracks from live recordings, Beatport’s latest move could quickly become one of the platform’s most talked-about releases of the year.
