Above & Beyond have announced the return of their flagship compilation series with Anjunabeats Volume 17, marking the first entry in the iconic series in four years. Four VERY long years, mind you. Last time we had a treat like this, we were still using facemasks.

The compilation will arrive on June 5th, featuring 35 tracks across two distinct mixes that capture the current evolution of the Anjunabeats sound, and which focus on both new contributors and old veteran friends of a label that has left the biggest of marks in the Dance music sound for 20+ years.

Curated between Above & Beyond’s London studio and during their recent global tour, Anjunabeats Volume 17 showcases both established label artists and emerging talent shaping the imprint’s future direction. The compilation spans from progressive depth to high-energy festival tracks, representing over two decades of the series’ influence on electronic music.

“Following the release of Bigger Than All Of Us, it felt important for this next chapter to celebrate the artists that make Anjunabeats such an exciting label to be a part of“, the boys say. “Volume 17 includes music from artists we’ve worked with for years as well as new faces representing the future of the label.”

The release of Volume 17 is complete by a first-ever vinyl pressing round, with twelve tracks handpicked by the trio for the needle to travel through, and a very special compilation release party in London for a select, lucky few who win a raffle entered by purchasing tickets to the local show.

Leading the compilation is ‘When I Look In Your Eyes‘, a newly-released yet very long-awaited collaboration with longtime Above & Beyond vocalist, Trance legend, and our favourite Siren of the Sea, Justine Suissa. The track premiered to 15,000 fans at Group Therapy 600 in Mexico City two years ago and became one of the most requested IDs from the band’s recent world tour.

Marking a middle point between the calmer entries in the BTAOU album and the boys’ earlier club-focused entries, ‘When I Look In Your Eyes’ has the best of both worlds. On one hand it brings together the sensitive, piano-riddled side of the Above & Beyond formula that makes us all love them, and on the other hand, it serves you relentless tension and sweet Progressive Trance release to fit the lasers when listening live.
