GRAMMY Award-winner and Ibiza regular Purple Disco Machine returns to the island of Ibiza for his forthcoming residency, Thursday nights at Pacha. Commemorating the occasion, he released a new record, inspired by the iconic nightclub he’ll call home for the summer. The aptly-named ‘Disco Cherry’ is out now.

Fittingly, the track is a call to party, with an energetic funky groove and rolling drums emanating an upbeat atmosphere of confidence and radiance. Further embodying the spirit of disco, Purple Disco Machine samples an ’80s classic, ‘Kasso – Walkman,’ bringing in an essence of freedom and joy. A repeating “rock the party nonstop like disco” vocal gives listeners instructions on what to do given the captivating beat. Purple Disco Machine champions his genre worldwide; ‘Disco Cherry’ is his powerful tribute to Ibiza, Pacha, and disco itself.

The accompanying clip reinforces the homage, featuring scenes drawn from Ibiza imagery from the ’70s and early ’80s. The video opens with a gentleman in a common predicament; he has just missed his flight home. (Ibiza’s airport is frequently cited to have the most missed flights in the world). A flashback to the night before reveals the circumstances: as Purple Disco Machine DJs, a crowd of partygoers dances the night away, losing themselves in the music and failing to realize the sun will be up soon.
