FURIA has withdrawn from the upcoming PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 in Romania to focus on obtaining a US visa for the BLAST.tv Austin Major in June.

As a result, PGL shared that women’s roster Imperial Fe has been invited to replace the Brazilian esports organisation at the Counter-Strike 2 event.

Imperial Fe will now step in to compete against 15 other Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) rosters, including MOUZ and Astralis, for $1.25m (~£1.04m) in total prize money.

Running from February 14th to 23rd, PGL Cluj-Napoca kicks off just five days after IEM Katowice.

Imperial Fe also attended IEM Katowice, becoming the first women’s roster to qualify for the prestigious CS2 event. Moreover, it has won two consecutive seasons of ESL Impact, the tournament organiser’s women’s CS2 league.

Since the beginning of the year, the Brazilian esports organisation has been making headlines with its high-stake matches against established top-tier teams. Its match against NAVI during the BLAST Bounty Spring 2025 Closed Qualifier peaked at 490,000 viewers, according to esports data platform Esports Charts.

Fellow Brazilian team FURIA has been competing at the highest tier of CS2 esports for several years, including this year’s IEM Katowice. Among its highest achievements are its victory at the Elisa Masters Espoo 2023 and a semi-final appearance at the 2022 IEM Major in Rio de Janeiro.

Last year, the organisation also revealed an office and training centre in Brazil as well as a gaming equipment brand called Fallen Gear.

The team has yet to officially qualify for the BLAST.tv Austin Major, taking place from June 3rd-22nd. Invites will be determined using Valve’s Ranking Standings (VRS) from April 7th.

FURIA is not the only veteran CS2 team missing from Cluj-Napoca. Although for different reasons, some esports organisations have opted out of the PGL tournament, most notably Team Spirit and G2 Esports, the top two teams in the Valve Ranking Standings.
