Swedish esports organisation Alliance has announced that Jan ‘akku‘ Schneeberger has joined its Apex Legends roster.

He will compete alongside in-game leader John ‘Hakis‘ Håkansson and Andre ‘Unlucky‘ Türk, representing Alliance in Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Year 6.

Akku is a seasoned competitor in Apex Legends esports, with some of his earliest matches dating back to 2023. His longest tenure was with British esports organisation Forbidden Gaming, and he briefly represented MOUZ in 2025.

Before joining Alliance, he played for Gaimin Gladiators in the ALGS Year 5 Championship in Sapporo, Japan, where his team placed 36th overall. Year 5 also saw akku compete in the ALGS 2025 Open and place 34th in the 2025 Midseason Playoffs during the Esports World Cup.

“Alliance isn’t just another org, it’s a team that expects to win,” akku wrote in the blog. “I’ve watched Hakis and the boys for a long time, and now being part of that duo is a huge opportunity. I’m here to grind, I’m here to win, and I’m here to stay.”

Alliance has finally found its replacement for Miron ‘Effect‘ Novikov, who transferred over to Aurora Gaming’s Apex Legends roster in February.

Pontus Bengtsson, General Manager at Alliance, wrote in the blog: “Finding a new third for this team wasn’t a decision we wanted to rush. We needed someone who could match our skill in-game but also stay calm when things can get messy, as they do in battle royales.

“Getting to spend some time with Akku here at HQ last week and seeing how he clicks with the staff and the team, it’s clear we made the right choice. The energy is high, and we’re ready to get back to work.”

Alliance has been competing in Apex Legends esports since 2019, back when the ALGS scene was first introduced by EA and Respawn Entertainment.

Alliance has yet to claim an ALGS Championship trophy, but the team has recorded strong results over the years. In Year 1, the team placed eighth overall in the 2021 EMEA ALGS Championship, eighth in the Year 2 championship, and placed 19th in Year 3.

Its greatest result was placing runner-up in the Year 4 ALGS Championship, which was won by tournament underdogs GoNext Esports. Recently, Alliance also qualified for the Year 5 Championship, where it placed 14th after reaching the Finals.

Alliance sets its sights on ALGS Year 6 in the hopes of once again reaching the championship. It has been invited to the ALGS Split 1 Pro League for EMEA, where it will aim to qualify for the Playoffs and secure crucial Championship Points, which are vital for reaching the crowning event.
