GRiZ fans are excited for GRiZ’s new album Future Funk Volume 1 out now. It’s his first studio album since 2021. With the return following a personal leave from music about 3 years ago, he announced on social media that he was taking a break for personal reasons. Since returning in 2025 GRiZ marked a significant musical comeback. From surprising fans with the release of the GEMiNI EP, to a slew of releases which included the Sidequest Vol. 1 Mixtape. Along with collaborations with Wooli, Flowdan, Tape B, Gryffin and others. He has also released more than 38 songs. This rapidly re-established him as one of electronic music’s defining live performers and community builders.

He has since had success by headlining his inaugural Seven Stars Festival. Which sold out immediately and drew more than 22,000 fans to Virginia for an immersive bass music experience. Now entering year two, Seven Stars has quickly evolved into one of dance music’s most talked-about destination festivals. That momentum has continued through major headline appearances and cultural moments across the electronic landscape, including a surprise Do LaB set at Coachella, sold-out arena plays in Chicago and the Bay Area, GRIZTRONICS weekends with Subtronics at The Gorge, and upcoming top-billed performances at Bonnaroo, Electric Forest, Elements, and more – including three sets at Seven Stars Festival this October.

Future Funk Volume 1 is a funk bass album that blends GRiZ’s iconic sounds of funk bass with dubstep. It reflects a renewed commitment and written during a period of creative rediscovery. Following inspiration wherever it led and allowing live energy, experimentation, and fan connection to actively shape the music in real time.

In a recent candid interview with Billboard he spoke about his time away from music and what it was like taking the break and he is only just getting re-started.
