Linney Claims Her Throne In the Ashes With Soul-Baring Single, The Crown

Not every coronation happens in gold light—some rise from ashes, with tears still drying and the ground quietly shifting beneath their feet. That's the case for Linney and her new single, "The Crown," her first solo release of 2025.

Reinforcing her standing as one of dance music's most vital emerging storytellers, "The Crown" is more than another club cut on Linney's expanding résumé. The DJ, producer and singer-songwriter, who was recently named to the EDM.com Class of 2025, peels back the layers of resilience and steps fully into her own mythology by releasing the track on her brand-new label, Siren Records.

Born from the imagery of a tarot reading, the track was inspired by her pulling the Tower card, an archetype of collapse and radical transformation. While others around her received signs of love and renewal, Linney says she drew fire, chaos and free-fall. 

That moment of personal clarity served as the impetus for this melancholic, emotionally charged anthem. Linney’s voice hovers with fragility over bright, ember-like synths that flicker with urgency. The song's slow-burning production underscores its message that sometimes, survival means surrender.

"The Crown" arrives in the midst of a high-profile summer for Linney, who recently performed at the largest EDM festival in North America, EDC Las Vegas. She's now gearing up for a headline show in New York City on June 28th. Beyond the stage, she's expanding her creative footprint as a new host on Insomniac Radio ONE.
